Adrienne Lareina

Hi Adrienne, can you introduce yourself to our readers please? Who is Adrienne Lareina?

Hi guys! I am honored to be here, I am a mom, model, fitness trainer aka super woman

How did you get involved in modeling?

Actually by accident, I lost my corporate career and decided to start a fitness business and met with a wonderful photographer in Beverly Hills to take fitness photos. Well, he suggested bikinis and next I get a call from the Playboy Mansion to come on over. I was in shock because I never saw myself as a great beauty. Just always very healthy and fit.

Have you come across any barriers and to what would you contribute your success?

I have, the first time I met Hugh Hefner and his crowd I was actually afraid to state my real age. Everyone was assuming I was in my twenties when in reality I am in my forties. I am wondering if even THE HUQ knows this. I kept it a secret for a few months and finally when I told them my age they were in shock. I started getting nicknamed the Playboy Cougar.

Adrienne, you would have to be every guys' fantasy babe, you have a perfect skin tone, beautiful face and sculpted body. What, if anything, do you dislike about being an in-demand beauty?

Adrienne LareinaI think for most models, we feel the need to always live up to a certain expectation. We want to be accepted for what is on the inside as much as the outside. At home I am a ponytail, tank top and shorts girl. I live on the beach and like the simple life. When I am out traveling and doing shoots, I sometimes feel the people I work with can be a little pretentious and that is just not me. I live a very simple life, and really want to be loved for me Not just the fact that I am blond, tan and 36-24-36. I do of course want to be told I am beautiful but just know there is a brain and personality that comes with this body.

How has your look evolved over the years and if you took a sheet of paper and a pencil, what would you list as the assets you have that you're proud to own?

Well, I am always writing down everything. I am seriously ADD... so I have to or I will forget. I was actually married and financially in a better state at the time, but not in a good mental state. I had to make a choice to let go of a certain lifestyle and simplify and it was one of the most profound moments of my life. So now I live in a small beach house in San Diego with a beautiful little boy, drive an older model car and couldn't ask for more.

Adrienne, how do you maintain your toned body?

I live a very clean, healthy lifestyle. I actually love to cook and garden. So if I am not shopping at my local farmer market I may be cooking with foods from my own garden. I work out almost every day and of course live and walk on the ocean. I eat a lot of fish, chicken and veggies.

Adrienne LareinaHow would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your photos?

Sexy and voluptuous. I never thought of myself as curvy until I showed up at shoots and saw how skinny the other models were. I am proud of my curves and wouldn't have it any other way. I live a healthy lifestyle but will not give up my chocolate and wine to be underweight for any magazine.

What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product?

First of all I have made so many wonderful friends in this industry. Friends for life! Working with the best has been amazing too! The Josh Ryan's of photography or the Katarina Van Durhams of makeup! Amazing experience. I never realized a photo shoot was a complete production. From sitting and planning a location, to styles, makeup and hair. The the angles and posing. I remember at the beginning a photographer telling me to say the ABC's so he could get the perfect expression and it my back didn't hurt in the morning I wasn't posing hard enough. What we do as models, is an exaggeration of reality. So we need to even exaggerate during our shoots. Whether it be big hair or sticking our hips out as far as we can push them.

There are a lot of misconceptions or stereotypes about glamour models. Does that stigma follow you?

YES, I get at least three form inquiries a day asking what my prices are as an escort! The problem is also it is so easy to steal photos on the internet. Researching myself I found I was in a champagne room in Boston supposedly the same night I was being interviewed on a sports radio station in Canada. So it is easy to lose your real identity in this industry and of course people always want to believe the worst.

What was 2010 like for you in terms of work (party hosting, magazines covers & appearances, films, music videos etc)?

2010 year was a crazy year. Everything that has happened was not expected. I am genuinely a nice girl and just trying to make it in this crazy world and have been lucky enough to run across so many wonderful people in this industry. I have my first billboard coming up. Hustler has made thousands of posters of me to represent their clubs. I have been hired to host at Playboy. Make many featured appearances across the states. Worked in beautiful settings such as the Exumas and Bahamas. I am now working on two future reality shows both based in Vegas! They should be very exciting and fun. My dream is to have my own cooking show. That is what I am hoping for. Sexy cooking show of course.

Adrienne LareinaHow do you balance the "model" life with a normal and personal life?

It is hard. After leaving a job in Vegas or LA I really have to wind down. My home life is so opposite though. The beach life in San Diego is very different than life in LA or Vegas. I just come home throw on my sweats, cook a good meal, have a glass a wine and watch a great movie with my little boy and all is well in the world.

What are some of your upcoming projects? What would you consider your biggest accomplishment so far?

My biggest accomplishment of course is being a mother. I am not really sure how to answer that question since I never planned on being in this industry. I would like to get back to where I started and focus more on the fitness side. I want to help other mothers and wives know they can still be super hot and sexy. I have helped quite a few women take off weight, one of my best friends started a sexy pole dance school. So I would like to work in that type of environment. Of course the reality shows will be crazy. Everyone is doing them though, so I will have to keep my fingers crossed. I start filming next month.

Lastly, where do you see yourself in 5 - 10 years?

Oh, married I hope or at least in a solid relationship. I am in love with the thought of love and a hopeless romantic. With all the travel and work it is hard to develop a strong relationship in this industry. Hopefully somewhere along the line I will find my prince charming. I know he is out there. As far as the industry goes, who knows, I am just along for the ride and it has been a fun crazy one indeed.
