Interview: Amanda Gutshall Amanda Gutshall is a superhot Glamour Model. We recently caught up with Amanda for an exclusive interview. Check out what she had to say..
Hey everyone!!! I'm Amanda and I call beautiful
Santa Barbara, Ca home but do a lot of traveling between SoCal and Denver for
shoots. I love to travel and am a brainy beauty. I have a bachelor's in
microbiology.
What was your first step into the world of glamor modeling?
I've always done
some sort of acting or modeling since Junior High but really got into modeling a few
years ago. My boyfriend had gotten a camera for his birthday and it just turned
into an addiction to shoot as much as we could. Thanks to him I've gotten my
foot in the door and am never looking back!! What has 2010 been for you in terms of modeling (magazine appearances, films, commercials, party hosting etc) work? It's been a lot of fun. It's such a rollercoaster of excitement. Earlier this year I shot with a clothing line and was their cover girl for that then I got to do some fashion shows. I also did a couple car magazines and have some stuff in the works. It seems like summer was a little slow but now the end of the year has picked up a lot. I have a few promos coming up too. Busy, busy, busy. A lot of people think I'm just a pretty face but I'm not. I have a degree and am working on my masters. Another is that far too many people think I'm too thick to be a model. For every one that tells me I can't, I do an amazing shoot that shows them I can. I have curves and I’m proud of them!!!!
Recently, Amanda, I have found that you are becoming a go-to model. What is the
secret of your success? Confidence and positive attitude. If you don't believe in yourself, who will. It took me a while to actually believe in that but since I have, many doors have opened. I'm thankful for that.
How has your look evolved over the years and if you took a sheet of paper and a pencil, what would you list as the assets you have that you're proud to own? Man, all I can say is I use to be a gothy tomboy in High School. It was around 19-20 that I embraced being a girl and it's gone uphill since then. Now I love fashion, makeup and everything there is to being a girl. I even have a purse and shoe fetish!!! I'm just glad that now I can accept my true beauty. I battled with an eating disorder but finally realized that wasn’t healthy. I'm happier, healthier and wiser than I use to be and realize the value of life and the gifts that are given and that it all can be taken away in an instant.
Thank you!!!! It seems like only recently the industry is starting to accept non-stick thin dark haired women. I've stayed determined to make my presence known as a real, curvy exotic beauty and it's paying off. Now I just have to watch out for the other beautiful women who have stuck it out too. We are showing that not only blondes can make it and I like being a part of this group.
You seem very healthy and happy in your photos. How would you describe a healthy lifestyle? This could include relationships, outlooks on life, diet and exercise..?
Wow, great question. Really it's everything in moderation. I keep positive people in my life. I eat healthy food and about 6 small meals a day. Don't get me wrong, I love alcohol and chocolate but I keep it in proportion. I believe in karma, fate and that everything happens for a reason. That keeps me grounded. And for exercise I LOVE pilates, swimming and going on walks. They make for a happy Manda!
It not just me. I work with a lot of talented and artistic people. We all just bounce ideas off of each and we come up with a great product. I just make sure I bring my class, sass and sex appeal to every shot. Being real is so important.
Most guys only dream about dating a super hot model. What advice do you have to
give them about meeting / dating someone of your calibre? Ha, I bet.... but honestly being intelligent and confident is a huge turn on. I hate when I meet guys and they can’t look me in the eye or they can't even talk to me. That drives me crazy. I know I can be intimidating but come on, I am a real person ;)
We've noticed that you have quite a following online. How important is it for
you to stay in touch with your fans online? It's not as big as some but I do love it. I think online is the greatest way to stay in touch. If I didn't have fans, I wouldn't be here. I am thankful for all of them and their support. It lets me know I'm doing a good job. I'm working on a few bikini and car calendars, a couple online magazines and I'm most excited for working on some content for a hot new clothing line. Can't wait!!!
Lastly, what are your plans for the future? Ya know, I take it one day at a time. I just want to continue enjoying life and working in what I love. Of course I want to get into more magazines, get more into the world of fashion and one day be a Playmate (Hey Hef!). So for now, I'm going to continue following my dreams……it's working so far!
