How did you initially decide to get into glamour
modelling? What was the catalyst to you making this decision?
I won "Miss Teen New Zealand" when I was 16 and that got me a modelling contract
in Australia. Then I went to Tokyo and finally landed in England. Since I'm not
tall enough for fashion modelling (you have to be 5ft 9 or above) it seemed only
natural that I fit more into magazines and swimsuits.
Eye candy and modeling, is there a difference to you?
I think that you can see eye candy everywhere - you don't need to be a model to
be eye-catching or eye candy.
Perfect shaped women with cute faces are notorious for being brainwashers (you
know the saying "never trust a nice shape and a smile"). Are there times you've
used your overwhelming sexiness to manipulate men or situations to your
advantage? If so, can you give us an example?
It would be silly to deny that
being attractive does have its advantages. I often get the best table at a
restaurant; VIP access tickets/backstage passes at concerts and the like but
there can be a downside - some girls think I am out to steal their man. I
wouldn't do that... ever. I mean, I could but I wouldn't...
What are some of the pros and cons of being a top rated glamour model that
you've found?
I find jealousy from other girls a major problem. Only last Saturday night I
was in a nightclub when some girl I did not know punched me in the face and for
no reason. It's a shame because I am a very down to earth person and like to
make friends not enemies. A definite pro is that I get offered free entrance
everywhere and men queue up to buy me drinks.
Do you miss your privacy?
I don't. I hate being alone
so I love being constantly surrounded by people. I am sure I will hate the day
that I become unrecognizable. I chose to put my life in the hands of the public.
Are you chased down by fans and paparazzi when you go back home to New Zealand,
is it the same as in the UK?
New Zealand is not as celebrity obsessed as the UK so there is no chasing there.
But sometimes in Australia where I am also known, I get papped. Here in the UK
the paparazzi often take pictures of me when I am out but they don't sit outside
my house (I'm not that well-known yet).
Do you feel misunderstood? (If Yes) How So?
Sometimes I read negative press about me and it is a little upsetting. Yes, I
have done stupid things in my past but I put it all down to being young and
naive. The media often twist and edit things to make a better story or TV piece
even if that means painting me in a negative light.
What is controversial and unique about you?
Where do I start? I am
very open about my sexuality and write in FHM magazine about sex and
relationships. I once said in the press I was a sex addict which was meant to be
taken light-heartedly but they blew it out of proportion and portrayed as some
tart so I think that is a bit harsh. I love sex but I am not an addict in the
way they made out. I would not just have sex with anyone however when I am in a
relationship I like to have sex with that person alot. I am very straight
talking. I believe in honestly and respect and loyalty and choose not to have
people around me that don't have high morals. I am an amazing cook. I am
surprisingly witty and have written many comedy sketches. I have designed a
whole lingerie collection. I have joined the Sikh religion. I believe in One
Love.
How strange is it to go from reading the news to actually becoming it?
Well, unfortunately the news especially here in the UK always focuses on the
negatives so I am never written about in an amazing light. I think being voted
the third sexiest woman in the world by loaded magazine was a major achievement
and this month in FHM UK I am "Miss New Zealand" in the alternative World Cup.
What would you change about yourself (physically) if you are to choose only one
thing?
Although I have almost a lion's mane of hair on my head I wish the hair on my
legs did not grow so fast, I like to be silky smooth at all times and I used to
shave my legs twice a day. I am so grateful to whoever invented permanent hair
removal laser treatments.
Where do you see your career heading?
I have my fingers in so many
pies and with dedication I know that I will be incredibly successful. I am
currently filming my own cooking show; I am very passionate about it and cannot
wait until it is on television. I have just landed a lead part on a six-part
internet based TV series called Hothouse. The script is similar to the show
Entourage. I have my own seamless lingerie collection that I designed that will
be hitting our shelves in the UK at the end of 2010; it is currently just being
made in China. One day, I want people to hear my name and gasp.
