readers please? Who is Cynthia Harmon?
Hey everyone! I'm a Model, Actress, and International Adventures. I live in beautiful Los Angeles and can't imagine living anywhere else! I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and am so thankful for my midwest roots. Midwest represent! What was your first step into the world of modeling? Have you always been comfortable with showing off your body? I've always been attracted to the camera. My first foray into modeling came when I was 12 years old in my hometown of Kansas City, so I started at an early age. After moving to LA, I became more and more pursued by photographers and artists to work with on looks from sexy to glam to fashion. I love my body and have always felt comfortable in my own skin, however I've gotten into exploring more looks and have gotten more adventurous in my taste over time. How was your first shoot ? What advice would you give new models about how to prepare? My first shoot (as an adult) was really fun! I remember how excited I was once I got the proofs from the photographer. I thought to myself, WOW this is IT for me! This is exactly what I want to be doing. There's so much that can be created and it's such a fun outlet for me. My advice is to always be yourself and do what you're comfortable with. Don't ever let friends or family dissuade you from your passion! Do what makes you happy, not what makes anyone else happy. Define what being sexy is to you. Being sexy is in one word "Confidence". Guys or girls, the most beautiful person in the world who lacks confidence will never be truly sexy or beautiful. Sexiness is an energy, you either have it in you or you don't. There's no fooling anyone else if you don't feel it yourself. Eye candy and Modeling is there a difference to you? Tough question..I guess you could call Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition eye candy.... But it's definitely modeling, even though they aren't exactly selling swimsuits. What, if anything, do you dislike about being a glamour model? Ilove everything! Seriously it is the coolest, most exciting job in the world. Cynthia, your beauty is rare and intoxicating.  How would you describe the demand for
your beauty in the modeling industry? How fierce is the competition you confront
with other perfect-bodied beauties?
First off, thank you so much for the compliment! I've been told that I have more a girl next door look that sets me apart from a lot of the other models. I have a natural look that is really in demand but I'm also able to diversify my look depending on the need of the shoot. There's a lot of competition between girls, but I never get involved in the sometimes catty infighting like you see on reality shows. I'm a professional every step of the way and I always keep it classy. What has 2010 been for you in terms of modeling work (party hosting, magazines, videos etc) I believe 2010 has seriously been one of my very best years. I've gotten to travel and do lots of fun photo shoots in exotic places. I've been blessed to work on a lot really fun stuff. Modeling at fashion shows, hosting parties, working for Playboy as a Girl of Golf. My acting side has been busier than ever too. I've had a reoccurring role on Fox Sports and have been working on a lot of film and television shows. I'm currently working on the action film 'Gone Dark' directed by Pascal Cooper. It will be out next year and is one you won't want to miss! 2010 has truly been my best year yet and I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for me! Can you describe a regular day in the life of Cynthia Harmon? What is it like being married to the super talented Andrew Dawson? My life is so much fun! I wouldn't change anything about it ;-) I'm so happy that I get to wake up every day and do what I love. Every day it's a new adventure since every day I'm usually working on something different. Being married to Andrew has been the best thing in my life, he's super supportive of everything I do. I'm also supportive of him and his career. We compliment each other really well. It's been so much fun meeting all of his famous clients, many of them are featured on www.TheHuq.com! (you can see the full list on Andrew's site www.soundeq.com) Since meeting him it has been an adventure, from flying all over the world to doing other really exciting things like walking the red carpet at the Grammys every year. For all its outward glamour, modeling can be a pretty tough business. There's a lot in fighting between models (just see Twitter for proof) and unprofessionalism from the people who run the business. What lessons have you learned so far about this industry that you can pass along to aspiring models? Just do you and know that nothing others do is because of you but entirely because of their insecurities. Don't let anyone dissuade you, family, friends or enemies. Never let anyone get inbetween you and your dreams!  We've noticed that you have quite a
following online. How important is it for you to stay in touch with your fans
online?It's a top priority and I love keeping in touch with all of my fans! The more they want to see me, the more I know I'm doing a good job. What would you consider your biggest accomplishment so far? Currently I'm working on a few high action films, it's fun being a gun toting girl who does all her own stunts! I'm also doing more photo shoots than ever. My biggest accomplishment is making a career at what I love doing and being true to me no matter what. I'm a member of both SAG and AFTRA. Acting and modeling is a passion that I'm so thankful I'm able to make a living at. I just want to keep riding this ride! It has been amazing so far! Lastly, where do you see yourself in 5 - 10 years?I see myself modeling quite a bit more, print ads, catalog work, billboards..Everything! Hosting a show would be a great change of pace and something I would love to do. I see myself acting in a wide range of roles from comedic to dramatic.
