Shekinah Garner

Hi Desiree, can you introduce yourself to our readers please?

I'm Desiree Allysha. 100% Georgia Peach with a million dollar smile & free spirited pesonality. I just like to have fun! Have you always wanted to be a model?

How did you get involved in modeling?

Not Really. I started of doing pageants as a tween. As a grew older I noticed a was turning into a sexy lil thang and tried a photo shoot for the first time in April 2010. The results were great & I started from there!

Now everyone sees all the glamour, but nobody sees the hard work put into being an official model. Can you tell us whats a days grind for you is like?

OMG! Networking!! Submitting pictures to different magazine companies, meeting people via Facebook, Twitter, etc. Its really uplifting when magazine companies contact you first though! Trying to book shoots with great photographers is hard work also.

You're really blessed with good genes - a pretty face and a wonderful body--two qualities that are highly important in terms of helping you to secure modeling gigs. Tell us about your heritage (the origins of your beauty) a little bit.

Well, I'm 100% African American. My lips and my eyes tell it all. Thats what people notice about me first. But I love my bum so do others! This caramel complexion also sets me off.

Desiree, you would have to be every guys' fantasy babe, you have a perfect skin tone, pretty face and a mind blowing body. What, if anything, do you dislike about being an in-demand beauty?

The fan mail is a lot! I get a lot of messages on my Facebook. Pop chatting is out of the question! If i go "online" i get like a thousand pop chats! The fan mail is overwhelming sometimes, but it makes me feel good that people notice me!

How has your look evolved over the years and if you took a sheet of paper and a pencil, what would you list as the assets you have that you're proud to own?

I've grown from a petty girl to a well-polished beautiful woman. I'm proud of everything on me! I love my small frame topped with a nice lil bum. Some like to call it a tooty booty. I love my complexion, my lips, my eyes, this wonderful smile and definitely this personality. You can't get far with out one of those!

How would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your photos?

I would describe my image as an exotically sexy bad girl!

What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product?

I value the reactions from my fans, friends & family. The reactions I value the reactions from my fans, friends and family. The reactions and comments are priceless and its makes me feel good about the product of my hard work along with the collaboration of the photographers and Glam team also.

How would you describe the demand for your beauty particularly in the modeling industry? How fierce is the competition you confront with other perfect-bodied beauties?

I would say that the demand for my type of beauty is at a high. I'm 100% natural. No silicone, no fillers! If you meet me in person, I look like the exact same from my pictures and you can't get that kind of satisfaction with other models.

What do you think about the hip-hop industry's promotion of lighter-skinned babes over darker-skinned ones?

I actually have a problem with that. I vent alot on my Twitter I actually have a problem with that. I vent alot on my Twitter about that! I don't know which of those categories I would fit in, but I would love to see more darker complected models in the hip hop industry. I get tired of seeing the same old white-skinned chicks every time I turn on a video or pick up a magazine. I mean, do people for get which ethnicity started hip-hop?

How do you balance the "model" life with a normal and personal life?

I don't know how I do it, but it gets done. I guess you can say that the "model" life is me time! I just love to do it.

At the moment, what are you passionate the most about in your life?

I most passionate about pleasing myself as far as doing what makes me happy. I'm young and I have long life to live and I just want to live it my way.

Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or do you have a 'by any means necessary I will get mine in the 21st century' attitude?

Haha! yes, I do have limitations. I will not do nude modeling. Now, I do imposed nudity, but nipples and cooch out is a no for me.

For all of the people, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future projects?

Y'all can visit my online portfolio on modelmayhem.com/desireeallysha or follow me on Twitter @DesireeAllysha

What are some of your upcoming projects? What would you consider your biggest accomplishment so far?

I'm currently working on some magazine publications. My biggest accomplishment so far, is just not giving up and pushing forward.
