Interview: Dulce Salazar Dulce Salazar is quickly becoming recognized as one of the most sought after latina models out there. Aside, from modeling she is pursuing acting/ singing in both the Latin and American entertainment industry. We recently caught up with Dulce for an exclusive interview. Hi Dulce, can you introduce yourself to our readers please? Who is Dulce Salazar? Hola mi gente bella my name is Dulce. My family is from the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic. I was born in New York City. Aside from the entertainment industry I am a full-time college student working on my Bachelors Degree in Business and Communications. I absolutely love to sing in Spanish. I love Spanish music. I'm not talking about the new age reggeton; but, that music from the soul. For example: Selena, La India, Brenda K Star, Marc Anthony, Victor Manuel, Antony Santos, and Aventura. I'm a homebody I love just being at my house watching a funny movie surrounded by the people that love me just the way I am no glitz, no glam just me raw and uncut. What was your first step into the world of glamour modeling? Working out very hard with my trainer and finding a reliable photographer. What has 2010 been for you in terms of modeling (magazine appearances, films, commercials, party hosting etc) work? The 2010 year has been more of an eye opening experience more than anything. Sure, I got the magazine spreads, the work on videos and film projects, got to host in the city of Hollywood where most only dream of doing; but, I also have had magazine companies not pay me for publications, photographers not give me my images, promoters and film directors wanting me to work for free etc.. My suggestion to the ladies that really want to model get a agent or manager to handle those suckers and know that modeling can't be forever once you get the stardom you need to build your portfolio keep it moving on to the next thing build yourself What stereotypes about models do you feel are unfairly placed on you
Recently, Dulce, I have found that you are becoming a go-to model. What is the secret of your success? My work ethic and natural look but, that is no secret lol. I'm up at 5am running up hills then I'm in my personal gym. As far as looks you can call me out any day of the week I look exactly like my pictures. I had to post some pics of me online untouched to prove a point. Hard work isn't a secret it's an accomplishment!! What, if anything, do you dislike about being a in-demand model? The dislike would be some of these unprofessional clowns think I'm going to do jobs for free. How has your look evolved over the years and if you took a sheet of paper and a pencil, what would you list as the assets you have that you're proud to own?
Dulce, your beauty is rare and intoxicating. How would you describe the demand for your beauty in the modeling industry? How fierce is the competition you confront with other beauties? Let's be real the demand for Spanish females will always be strong in the modeling agencies. As for competition goes I don't get into all of that, it's beneath me. The public can see me in person or in published magazines, my looks are the same. There is nothing fake on or about me. FYI classy women do not compete with one another they get money and salute each other. Tell me, what is the biggest misconception people have of you? That I am shorter than I really am (giggles) when I am almost about 6ft bare foot.
I try to always have positive energy around me for one. My diet is always healthy I cook everything from scratch lol we don't eat take out in my house!! As for exercise I probably have the best kept secret trainer on the planet. My workout schedule is a severe ass kicker. Quick but true story I had two other females work out with him they quit in ten minutes. ‘Most guys only dream about dating a super hot model. What advice do you have to give them about meeting / dating someone of your calibre? Gracias for the compliment but, super models get super paid I'm not driving a Ferrari last time I checked (giggles). As for advice for a man to approach a woman I look at it this way if a woman has to tell you what to say or do then you aren't the man for the job "carajo". We've noticed that you have quite a following online. How important is it for you to stay in touch with your fans online?
It's super important because I'm always for the
people. I am a human like everyone else and what I do does not put me above the
next person. What are some of your upcoming projects?
