Interview: Jennifer Vaughn
Meet Jennifer Vaughn, she is one of the hottest new glamour models out there. We recently caught up with Jennifer for an exclusive interview. Check out what she had to say.... How did you initially decide
to get into modeling? What was the catalyst to you making this decision?
I initially decided to get into modeling through local swimsuit contest and calendars... Then one day it clicked, publications! I started to target all the big guys like Playboy and Maxim. Now I've been featured internationally with both multiple times and I'm loving every second of it. They catalyst behind my decision to take it to the level I'm at today is because someone told me I couldn't. I'm definitely the one laughing now. Modeling isn't a job for shy women. As a rising glamour model, how did you build such a high self-confidence? I'm somewhat of a shy person, but I've always been a go getter and a risk taker. Throughout my career I've worked with a lot of amazing photographers that were able to bring me to another level of confidence in front of the camera though... almost portraying myself as an alter ego which would allow me to be what every man and even woman wanted to have or even be. Define what being sexy is to you? Sexy to me means being comfortable in your own skin. Jennifer, you have one of the most refined physiques that I've seen that elicits a high degree of pleasure from one's aesthetic senses, so I'm curious to know what does your diet and exercise regimen consist of? First, thank you! I have been genetically blessed. I haven't worked out in years
and I eat like a fat person. I stand at 5'7 and weight 104lbs. I haven't gained
a pound since high school and that was almost a decade ago. Wild genetics are to
blame!
How would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your photos? I think the image the people gather while viewing my work is that I'm naughty but in a good way. What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product? Beginning to end it's exciting. I personally gain a lot of satisfaction out of seeing my work with amazing photographers being published, and hearing the fans reaction to it. Building huge popularity and successful modeling career demands business sense. How would you describe your business sense and money making talent? In other words, what are your criterion for selecting the appropriate companies to work with? When you are so coveted, I guess you say "no" more than "yes", am I right? I majored in business and I also worked in sales for years. So, I know how to market myself and make Jennifer Vaughn into a new named brand. I do have to limit my obligations to projects because of opportunity cost. Thoughts of where am I taking this brand and how will it benefit what I'm trying to do with it by taking one assignment over another? I knew that my brand was sexy, classy and desirable so I only work with reputable companies that highlight my style and what I valued. There are a lot of misconceptions or stereotypes about glamour models. Does that stigma follow you? Like Marilyn said, "I let them think what they want." What is controversial and unique about you? I guess there are two main things that are unique/controversial about me. The first would be my nationality is unique. I'm not your typical white girl baby. I'm exotic to say the least. I'm Italian, Czech, Slovak and Spanish. The second issue would be considered controversial because it was my debut as a nude model with Playboy Italy in September 2010 and then another feature the month after with Playboy US November Cyber Girl. That's when people really started talking. It's funny when people come up to me and say, "I've seen you naked." I think to myself, "Well, duh! Half the world has already. Welcome to the club buddy." What would you say sets you apart from other women in the same field, with
similar goals?
Besides my exotic looks I'd have to say that the main thing that sets me apart is I am natural. I'm not just another blonde with big fake boobs. I've always stuck with the motto, "why fix it if it's not broken?" Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or do you have a 'by any means necessary I will get mine in the 21st century' attitude? My limit is Playboy. I think Playboy features a woman's beauty with class. I will not do Hustler, Penthouse or porn because it's just not my style. For all of the people, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future projects? -http://modelmayhem.com/JenniferVaughn FANS- PLEASE ADD TO FOLLOW UPCOMING FEATURES @ -http://facebook.com/joinjv2 Photographer: Jose Luis |
