Interview: Laura Dore

Laura Dore is a top-rated model/actress. Recently we caught up with Laura for an exclusive interview. Check out what she had to say..

Laura Dore

How did you initially decide to get into modeling? What was the catalyst to you making this decision?

I started by doing a personal shoot with a local photographer and ended up liking it so much that I decided to pursue it.

Modeling isn't a job for shy women. As a prominent glamour model, how did you build such a high self-confidence?

I didn't... [Laughs] I'm extremely shy in real life. When I'm working, it's more of becoming someone else and performing than who I am on a day-to-day basis.

Define what being sexy is to you?

Being positive and happy with one's self.

How would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your photos?

It depends on which photos [Laughs].... Anything from happy to sad to scared.

What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product?

I'd say both. I think in order to have a successful shoot; you have to have a certain level of understanding with everyone involved. If everyone isn't on the same page, then something as simple as hair can throw off a shoot. As far as fan reaction, I think we all love to hear positive feedback when you've worked really hard on a project.

Laura DoreBuilding huge popularity and successful modeling career demands business sense. How would you describe your business sense and money making talent? In other words, what are your criterion for selecting the appropriate companies to work with? When you are so coveted, I guess you say "no" more than "yes", am I right?

I won't do a project if I don't believe in it. It's hard for me to give my all if I'm not into something. I'd rather fail at doing something that I loved, than half ass it at something I could care less about for a check.

There are a lot of misconceptions or stereotypes about glamour models. Does that stigma follow you?

I haven't really had a problem with that. I know when people meet me they don't expect me to be into some of the stuff that I like but that's about it [Laughs]....

Laura, what is controversial and unique about you?

My telekinetic powers...

What would you say sets you apart from other women in the same field, with similar goals?

I have hands and feet like an Avatar....

Laura DoreBeyonce has Sasha Fierce and you have Sweetie Cyandide. Tell us about Sweetie Cyanide?

She's dangerous [Laughs]....She's my evil alter ego that I turn to when it's time to scare people. You can see more of her on my site

How did you become interested in fetish/burlesque?

I first became interested in the fetish scene when I picked up a copy of Marquis Magazine with Kitty Klaw on the cover. I was fascinated by the images of latex and tight laced corsets. I've been a fan of burlesque for a long time, and finally decided to start performing.

What does burlesque mean to you?

Bringing class and glamour back into the strip tease…

Classic pinup has become a huge phenomena lately, what about it first captured your interest?

I've always been a huge fan of Marcel waved hair, and classic makeup. I love how glamorous and feminine woman were from that era.

What was it like working with the likes of Bobbie Burlesque?

I love my Bobbie! You can catch all his upcoming shows at BobbieBurlesquePresents.com. He makes all of my costumes and is a wonderful dance coach and also performer.

Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or do you have a 'by any means necessary I will get mine in the 21st century' attitude?

Uh, in life in general, I have certain standards for myself that I like to follow [Laughs].... I think anyone that doesn't hold themselves to some sort of moral standing is never really happy in the long term...

For all of the people, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future projects?
