TONI RAE INTERVIEW
Interview: Elisha Jade

There are so many fake photoshopped models out there  today, but here you are going to meet Elisha Jade, a drop-dead gorgeous natural  beauty. Read on to see what  Elisha had to say in the interview we conducted with her.

Elisha Jade
Hi  Leesh, can you introduce yourself to our readers please?

Hello everyone, hope you are all well if you have never come across me before my name is Elisha jade / Leesh and I am a british urban model.

Have you always wanted to be a model? How did you get involved in modeling?

To be honest, I really was into sports and wanted to be in the olympics doing 100m. I come from a very sporty family and my dad always wanted me to pursue it further and my mum wanted me to do this whole modelling thing she used to go on and on about it to the point I just gave in

Now everyone sees all the glamour, but nobody sees the hard work put into being an official hip-hop model. Can you tell us whats a days grind for you is like?

Hard work when it comes to my modelling workHard work when it comes to my modelling work I can seem very serious at times. I'm very business minded and know what I want so I'm pretty straight to the point. I turn up on time to shoots if not 30 minutes early I am a control freak you have to be as you won't get taken serious in this industry, don't get me wrong I love to have a laugh and a joke but I'm kind of old school and my motto is "if you want a job done, you do it your self" hence why I don't really like to rely on makeup artists and hairstylist and all that but my day is simple. When I am shooting, I pretty much do hair, makeup and clothing I hate complications its stresses me out and I have been doing it so long now I understand lighting, angles and editing I think its so important to never rely on anyone but your self if I could take my own pics I would thats how strong minded and determined I am.

Elisha JadeYou're really blessed with good genes - a pretty face and a wonderful body--two qualities that are highly important in terms of helping you to secure modeling gigs. Tell us about your heritage (the origins of your beauty) a little bit.

Well, thank you very much you missed out personality thats important too. Well, lets start with my dad's part of the family thats where my butt and thick legs come from that carribean/latina side I have no idea though who I got my 42 inch hips from but my mum's side are of italian/english heritage and all the women on her side all have a really big chest so I am such a mixture of both. I got my mum's fiery temper and my dad's silly toilet humour, in all fairness my parents are very good looking for oldies. I'm so into culture I always ask people where there from especially if they look like they have a little flavour. Geneology really interests me I love knowing about peoples background and culture I seem to always find myself talking to old people waiting for trains and buses I love hearing the stories of there day when they were young, they speak so wisely and you can learn so much from them

Leesh, you would have to be every guys' fantasy babe, you have a perfect skin tone, pretty face and a mind blowing body. What, if anything, do you dislike about being an in-demand beauty?

Not really. As I dont see myself that way at all, modelling is just my job not my life and I always make sure I get that message across to people that I'm really a genuine down to earth person. People say postive and negative stuff about me all the time but you have to take the good and the bad I think models today think its all this glam lifestyle and it is not at all, I just let it go over my head. I don't want to get absorbed into that kind of world. I'm such a geek if people say Im pretty I go bright red and silly...I just dont no what to say

How has your look evolved over the years and if you took a sheet of paper and a pencil, what would you list as the assets you have that you're proud to own?

Omg yes a lot I had braces when I first started modelling so I was so so limited to my facial poses I look back at some of my stuff and cringe my body over the years has to. I represent the average female, I am just like any other women. My weight is up and down all the time but I don't really ever let it bother me as I hate to put pressure on my body to look perfect and in my eyes there is no such thing young girls today feel so pressured to conform to what the media thinks looks good. I am such a free spirit I dont like to be like everyone else I just do me. I guess I am comfortable in my own skin

How would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your photos?

I am going to be so honest 50/50, it is all down to the person that sees my pics. I'm very smart and pretty clued up, men see my images half naked and assume I will be like that in person - this over sexed diva that is high maintenance. People are kind of outraged that I do topless and think I'm this huge slut but in England topless modelling is standard glamour, its even in our newspapers everyday. I think people judge what they see from my images and when they meet me in person its like oohhhhh I can't believe how normal you are, its so important to me that I am a pleasent person to be around weather it be day to day life of modelling.

What experience do you value more and attain more personal satisfaction from as a model: the creative process behind an intimate collaboration with a talented photographer, make-up artist and/or designer OR seeing the reaction from your family, friends and fans as they bare witness to the finished product?

I say its a mixture of all as a model its important to try out new styles you always have to spice it up or else it gets boring. See I love that shock factor I love to entertain people through my images. Its hard to show personality through and image, my family. Dont say a thing at all they push me to do more, they are all so so supportive but its all team work on set, nothing beats having a good team of people to work with as it shows in the end product.

How would you describe the demand for your beauty particularly in the modeling industry? How fierce is the competition you confront with other perfect-bodied beauties?

See in the uk, its very slow to the point we don't have any urban publications so here there is not really much competition to be that number one model and the urban circle in the UK is so small its pretty much like one big family we all look out for each other. Like if people in the industry ask me If I know a good model, mua or photographer I will always point them into the right direction and reccommend other models and I always sing them praises. In the uk, we all pretty much do our own thing. Its hard for me to make a judgement as I try not to be on the scene in that way like I just do my job then go home but maybe if we had magazines like you guys have in the USA it may be a different story who knows, my best advice to any new model never ever take it for granted and always have a plan B.

What do you think about the hip-hop industry's promotion of lighter-skinned babes over darker-skinned ones?

I think its really bad if I'm honest what does skin tone have to do with a model being better at the job......in this day and age its suppose to be getting better but again its the media trying to think for other people I have not experienced the whole USA scene properly yet But it cant be any worse than the uk as Its shocking here it just fustrates the hell out off me smh

How do you balance the "model" life with a normal and personal life?

Simple I don't allow it to, I am very good at separating both, for example when I leave a shoot I take my makeup off and peel off my false eyelashes in the car, I never bring that modelling world into the house and to be fair I never really talk about modelling at home as if I did my brother would just roll his eyes and wrestle me to the ground, we are all big kids in this family. I swear, family and being grounded is what matters to me

Do you place any limitations on yourself in terms of what you will and will not do in this industry to succeed, or do you have a 'by any means necessary I will get mine in the 21st century' attitude?

I think these days success is one of two things, its either who you know or its being so different and stepping out of the box look at lady gaga at first we all thought she was just mad but we all love her now. With me, people have told me I am not aggressive enough for success and I should be more in your face. I'm sorry but I am not stepping on no-ones toes and playing those manipulative games. I have morals

For all of the people, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future projects?

Well I have my own website now
www.iloveleesh.com most of my info is on there, I have twitter @iloveleesh and facebook which is "elisha leesh england"I'm pretty much on social networking sites 4 times a week if not more it all depends on my schedule.

What are some of your upcoming projects? What would you consider your biggest accomplishment so far?

I think it was my website getting that thing up was nothing but stress and tears as it was so intense, it was my baby project and it really means alot to me. Not only me but others worked on it so hard also. It was overdue launching a year as in that time my mum became ill and things were going on with the family so I had to put what meant more first but now thats up and running I can now go and work in my fashion label thats a year late and my makeup and body image site which I am excited about as I want to put a positive strong message out there for women about womens wellbeing I dont want to be just seen as a sex symbol for men with my membership site but I want to be seen as a business women and a role model to other young girls with my other sites. I just hate not being busy I don't know what to do with myself..

Well, that's it. Feel free to throw in a question if there's something in particular I didn't cover that you want to plug or put out there

ummmm you forgot to ask how my cat beam is, people seem to know more about my cat than me I might make her a youtube channel only playing, thank you for the interviewing me.
