Interview: Sydney Barlette
Gentlemen, please welcome Sydney Barlette, one of the hottest brunettes you have ever seen. This statuesque 5'4'' blonde model has killer curves and a jaw-dropping 32DD-25-36 physique that kindles your desires.
Sydney is a versatile model, who can easily convey a complex web of looks - from
Editorial to Commercial. We recently caught up with her for an exclusive interview. Check out what she
had to say....
Hello Sydney, I'm flattered you accepted to be interviewed for THE HUQ!, you are
arquably one of the hottest we have featured..To start this interview off,
please give me some background information. Firstly, how does it feel to be one
of the most beautiful glamour models out there?
I am very honored that you would say that. I work very
hard in what I do and it's always flattering when I see that all my hard work is
paying off.
What was your first step into the world of modeling? Have you
always been comfortable with showing off your body?
I actually started out in acting, I did my first national
commercial for Marble Slab when I was 14 years old. So I have always been
comfortable in front of the camera. I have never been shy so showing off my body
was never a problem. I feel like a woman's body exemplifies beauty and I
shouldn't be ashamed to show it.
How was your first shoot? What advice would you give new models about how to
prepare?
I really did not know what to do but I just winged it. To be honest it was not as bad as I
thought, and the pictures turned out great. My advice would be to find a good
photographer who knows what he is doing. Let everything come naturally, sex
appeal is never forced.
How would you describe the image that comes across when people look at your
photos?
I have no idea what people think about my photos. To be
honest, I try not to look at what people say a lot because to me, my photos are
my art. Some people might like my look and some people might not but at least I
put myself out there for people to judge. Any one can put on a thong and look
sexy, I want my photos to be more than that. I want my images to be memorable.
There are a lot of misconceptions or stereotypes about superhot glamour models.
Does that stigma follow you?
There are many misconceptions but I can only speak for
myself. A lot of people think being a model is easy, when in fact it is one of
the hardest things I have ever done. This industry is so crazy that one minute
you feel like you are on top of the world but then the next minute you are
doubting your success. It takes a strong person to be in this industry and it
takes an ever stronger person to stay in it. This is not a hobby for me, this is
my passion and I work hard to be apart of it. The actual modeling part of it all
is what I enjoy the most but preparing for a shoot can be stressful. When you
have to maintain a certain size or look you can't have off days. So in between
going to school and booking shoots, I am constantly in the gym and following a
strict diet. Unfortunately for me, I was not blessed with the gift of a high
metabolism so I really have to work hard to keep my body fit. I have always been
a believer that hard work pays off and I adapt that mind set into my everyday
life. Life is too short to be lazy. I hope to one day inspire other women to
work hard and follow their dreams, it might be hard but it will be well worth it
in the end.
What is controversial and unique about you?
I guess it would be that I came from a private school and
went to Baylor University. Lets just say that being in Playboy is not ideal to
Baptisits. In my eyes I think what I am trying to do is beautiful. I am still
trying to figure out exactly what I am going to do but as of now I am living my
own life. Just because someone else is different doesn't mean their bad, it just
means they are destined for bigger things than being a stay at home wife. Big
risks equal big rewards, thats why I never play it safe in the game of life...
Even if I fail at whatever I am doing, at least I have a story to tell.
What
would you say sets you apart from other women in the same field, with similar
goals?
I have heart. I have passion. I have drive. I am not doing this for my
ego, I am doing this because it truly makes me happy.
Can you describe a regular day in the life of Sydney Barlette?
Usually, I wake up run 3 miles then go to Bikram Yoga.
Then I check my email, respond to castings, go to auditions and book shoots all
day. After all the busy work, I usually have a glass of wine and take a bubble
bath. Pretty exciting stuff. For all its outward glamour, modeling can be a
pretty tough business.
There's a lot in fighting between models (just see Twitter for proof) and
unprofessionalism from the people who run the business. What lessons have you
learned so far about this industry that you can pass along to aspiring models?
Like I said before, I cannot speak for anyone but myself.
I always want to see other women succeed, even if it means they get the job that
I was auditioning for. You can't be jealous in this business or you will be one
bitter b*tch! You have to be confident in yourself and your talents or you will
be eaten alive. I can't tell you how many times I have been told I was fat and
my nose was too big, the list goes on and on. If you are no what one company is
looking for, you shouldn't be jealous towards the girls that are, and most of
all you shouldn't take it personally. Keep your head up and keep trying even if
you hear 1,000 no's I promise you the one yes you hear will change your life.
Everything will work out in the end and if it hasn't, that just means it's not
the end.
For all of the people, photographers, agencies and companies seeing you for the
first time who will want to gain more information about you, tell them where
they can go to see and read about some of your past, present and future
projects?
You can look up my model mayhem or twitter. Follow me at @sydneybarlette.
